Romans 8: 18-23
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us. 19 The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.
Spiritual leadership guides people by pointing to God and getting to His original intent in all situations. This helps people to apprehend the benefits of discerning between God’s grace (not limited to unmerited favor but includes equipping power to change) and mercy(compassion and forgiveness giving way to a fresh start on the same course in the way God prescribes at every opportunity). Discernment between the two is
critical in order to respond correctly to our circumstances.
Spiritual leadership moves people from operating according to the old nature to operating in the Spirit. Its’ chief aim is growing into the full measure and stature of Jesus. This is a crucial element in the paracleting process that transforms the leader and brings him to spiritual maturity.
This type of leadership becomes necessary when divine tension is detected between the way things are and the way things should be while relying on the power of Holy Spirit to eliminate (not bridge) the gap between the two.
