In The Meantime

Change is often a challenge for many of us. The thought of it causes dread and sleepless nights. Despite the fact that we know what must be done, we often wonder if the road we are on to change is the right one.
We are experiencing a “divine tension” that occurs during change processes whether in our personal growth, spiritual development, family, or work transitions. That divine tension is the difference between the way things are and the way things should be.
Remember, pain reminds us that we should be "casting all your care upon Him for He careth for you." Careful consideration should be given when experiencing this divine tension-it can be a very painful and disorienting process even when we are cooperating with Holy Spirit.
What do we do in the meantime? Here are some tips to get through that may help.
  1. Read and believe: Decide that what God says in His Word, you believe
  2. Look up not out: Draw near to God in worship that focuses on Him and Who He is
  3. Be still and know: Listen to, sing to Him, songs that inform you and the situation of His power, might, and love
  4. Pray and listen: Even when you do not feel like it pray and listen to what He has to say
  5. Enlist a prayer posse: Just a few close friends who you trust that pray and ask them to pray with and for you until something happens
  6. About Face: Respond with the opposite spirit-what you would normally do, don’t do
  7. 30 second rule: Before you say or do anything and ask Holy Spirit what is going on
